One of my favorite public speaking activities has always been addressing children. Being married to a teacher has given me many opportunities. Last month I addressed sixty 5th graders at the Parkview Elementary School in Portsmouth Virginia. The girls wanted to hear about treasure while the boys were obsessed with sharks! It’s a small way for me to give back, while championing Kaxaan Nautical Foundation’s mission of inspiring nautical conservation through exploration, discovery and community engagement. Maybe the next Jacques Cousteau was in the audience?
