Kaxaan Nautical Foundation
Through our community projects Kaxaan wants to leave a permanent footprint with the local communities, empowering them to maintain sustainable practices for marine preservation, while also having an impact on their lives and community by diversifying their economy to include sustainable tourism.
Exploration is our bread and butter, it is what triggers the imagination and fuels us forward. Research up front improves our chances of locating the wreck site. These sites include volcanic lakes, coral reefs, coastal tidal pools. We don’t get to choose the wrecks’ location… they choose us.
We collaborate with local fishing guides familiar with the waters and typically stay in their village, relying on them for housing and meals, and establishing a partnership in the endeavor.
