We need to respect the oceans and take care of them as if our lives depend on it. Because they do.

Exploration

Kaxaan Nautical Foundation

Exploration is our bread and butter, it is what triggers the imagination and fuels us forward. Research upfront improves our chances of locating the wreck site. These Sites include Volcanic Lakes, Coral Reefs, coastal tidal pools. We don’t get to choose The wrecks location… they choose us.

We collaborate with local fishing guides familiar with the waters and typically stay within their village relying on them for housing and meals establishing a partnership in the endeavor.

Baja’s Gold Rush Era Steamers

In the mid-1800s, there was a boom of activity all along the US Pacific coast. Most travelers made this treacherous journey by steam ship and many of these vessels came to a tragic end. We are working on multiple projects to reveal the location of some of the nineteen wrecks in this virtual graveyard that extends from Nicaragua to San Francisco.

US Ships of War

The relationship between Mexico and the United States has not always been cordial. This is reflected in the large amount of US warship wrecks in Mexican territorial waters:

  • USS Sommers
  • US H1 Submarine
  • USS San Jacinto
